Commercial Property Manager Jobs

Commercial property manager jobs are exciting, fast paced, and require and advanced knowledge of all commercial property.  You may be responsible for managing industrial space, or smaller bay offices.  Your obligations may include negotiations and hiring of contractors for building maintenance. Ensure all adherence to specific ideas laid out in contracts. Conduct formal inspections of interior and exterior of buildings. Make recommendations of building improvements, and be in communication with the owner for advertising needs.

Thus, you must have a knowledge of construction, maintenance, and leasing. Ability to negotiate the best pricing for services such as lawn care, and upkeep of the building maintenance. You will also need very strong communication skills, as it is your responsibility to talk to tenets, owners, contractors, vendors, and other employees.  You must be able to relay messages, and technical concerns with ease, and understanding, with little supervision, and a lot of foresight. 

Many companies are looking for someone with the ability to wear many hats, you must be able to develop and manage budgets. Pay mortgages, fees, repairs, taxes, licenses, and any other costs that may arise. They are also looking for strong analytical skills, and problem solving abilities. Working under high pressure situations comes with the territory of commercial property manger jobs, and you must be able and willing to adapt to those changes. 

Other qualifications you may need, or must have are the ability to organize work and engage in many different tasks simultaneously. You will be constantly pulled in many different directions, and managing that pull is imperative to both your director, and your clients. You must have adequate knowledge of computers and be able to write reports and correspondence.  And, you must be able to carry out complex instructions with very little oversight.    

You may also be responsible for overseeing advertising on a specific property. Knowing how, and what to advertise are needed skills. Being able to put the word out, and get responses with minimal monetary fees.  Remember, the goal here is to maintain, and or, make money, not simply spend it.  This is another job duty in which you must be able to balance.   

Many companies putting out  for commercial property manager  jobs, are looking for an employee with a four year education. But, marketing yourself properly and have an advance knowledge of the aforementioned skills may be able to be used in lieu of a formal education. Just remember, look your best, and know all of the information that come with commercial property management.
